Ahh VMworld. The annual show that puts 30,000 vendors and users of IT in the same place and transforms how businesses grow and become successful. I’ve been going to VMworld in the US and Europe for years, have spoken at a few of them, have worn through dozens of pairs of shoes working the booths at them, and have seen IT transform from “ooh vMotion to wow transformational cloud stack!” It’s such a great show, between the speakers, the sessions, the expo hall and the parties, VMworld is one show you don't want to miss. iland will be there in full force this year and we want to help you in your journey to the cloud.
Whether it’s discussing our award winning Disaster Recovery as a Service, or figuring out where your next IT innovation will live with our Infrastructure as a Service offering, we love to talk tech, futures, and enable you accelerate your business objectives.
As always, VMware will have a wide variety of technical sessions on everything from software defined data center advances, to NSX, to utilizing the cloud. The keynotes have some amazing visionaries in the field ready to give their ideas on where tech is going, and iland is participating in two technical sessions, as well. Make sure to add them to your “My VMworld Session Builder” and come learn about some of the cool things we are doing with VMware. Just search for the session name or the hashtag and you should find it. Take a look at the sessions we have below:

The Hands-on Lab area is another great way to get some training on the various product lines that VMware offers. Without affecting your own environment, you can learn new techniques, play with new software, or just get a refresher on things you may have forgotten. Hands-on Labs can be a very powerful tool for both education and sales enablement, and we know all about how to leverage the cloud to deliver scalable on-demand environments. Come talk to us about that if you want more information.
One of VMworld’s biggest sights is the expo hall. There are so many vendors and technology stuffed into a giant room and the atmosphere is electrifying! We will be at booth #222 so come by and say hi! Sunday night, the Solutions Exchange Welcome Reception will take place in the expo hall. Whether this is your first trip to VMworld or your 5th, this is the perfect opportunity to get some food, walk around and see all the vendors and come talk shop with us. We will also have some iland representatives in the Veeam booth all day on Tuesday. So be sure to stop by and see how Veeam and iland can create the perfect synergy of backup and disaster recovery in the cloud.
VMworld always has some great parties. From the festive partner parties, to the small exclusive outings, to the awesome Wednesday night VMworld Customer Appreciation party (featuring Blink 182 woohoo!), there is so much to do, so many people to reconnect with and so much fun to have. iland will be sponsoring the Veeam Cloud Reception at Libertine Social in Mandalay Bay on Monday night from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Stop by the iland (#222) or Veeam (#417) booth to learn more.
No show is complete without fun things to bring back to the kiddos, or the office, and iland has some hot giveaways. I mean of course you stopped by to talk about our global domination of DR in the cloud, but walking away with a few snazzy trinkets in your bag is always a bonus!
If you want to schedule a visit with some of our techs and see a demo, sign up below. You will recieve a $25 Starbucks gift card just for showing up at your appointment!
In the booth we will have several fun giveaways, including webcam covers for your laptops, dancing robots and of course fidget cubes! We will also be holding a drawing for one big prize, a Nintendo Switch! Now, I stood out in the cold all night for mine, but you could walk away with one for simply stopping by and entering the drawing. How nice would that be for the trip home?
We joke about how tough it is to be going to Vegas for a week of work, with all the food, the parties, the hanging out, but the truth is VMworld is an amazing experience and can really help transform IT and move it forward. Learn about new and exciting technologies coming out or learn how to better utilize the existing tech you have. Plan for future growth and learn how to turn IT into something that advances the business needs for the future. We have a few really exciting announcements we will be making at the show, but I don’t want to spoil that here. Come stop by and see what cool stuff we are showcasing. Also, utilize the conference to its fullest. Lean how others are solving challenges you might have, learn as much as you can, talk to as many companies as you can and make the most of your experience. Then, go hit the tables and have some fun! We look forward to seeing you there!
